Description of Trip:

The Minnesinger exchange program has been happening for about 20 years. An exchange partner is found through personal contacts, dates are established, then each school visits the other. The trip itself consists of concerts given by the visiting ensemble, but there are also opportunities for combined performances with the hosting ensemble. It is a music exchange first, but undoubtedly a very powerful cultural exchange, as well. At first to keep down the cost of the trip, a solution was found to house visiting students with the families of the hosting ensemble. This has provided the chance for each visiting student to "live" with their host family and thus come to know intimately what life is like in another country. The Minnesingers also take the opportunity to visit local cities and centers of culture. Music opens the door to a collaborative effort, an exchange of cultures and experiences and friends that last a lifetime.

Dates of Travel:
Presently, we are planning to travel between the dates of April 12 through April 22.

What students are eligible to go?
Minnesingers in good academic standing are eligible to participate. All Minnesingers are chosen through an audition process in June of each academic year.
