Learn basic self defense. Feel more confident. Learn how to protect yourself physically by being more prepared and aware.
Playwriting 6:30-8:30 p.m. Room 511 Room 511 Instructor: Brian Ditchfield
Understand the fundamental techniques of structure and dialogue in playwriting through writing exercises and workshops. Students develop a one-act play or the first act of a three at play.
Understanding Shakespeare 6:30-8:30 p.m. Room 515 Instructor: Brooke Ditchfield
Learn an appreciation of Shakespeare’s plays by examining the world of Elizabethian England and applying this knowledge to speaking and reading the text. Be prepared to be on your feet!
Turnings of the Wheel: An Introduction to Buddhist Philosophy and Culture
6:30-8:30 p.m. Room 419 Instructor: Douglas Brush

This course will seek to introduce students to the varied religious world of Buddhism. Upon the course's completion it is hoped that participants will feel confident in their understanding of: -the Buddha's life story and the North Indian religious world he reformed -the basic philosophical tenets of Theravadan Buddhism -the essentials of Buddhist monasticism & culture -an understanding of the teaching's spread throughout SE, Central and Far Eastern Asia in its Mahayana and Tantric forms -a broadside view of the Buddhist world as it exists today in the East and West.
Wednesdays 6:30-8:30 p.m Beginning March 12th
Yoga Room 510 Instructor: Martha Abbot
This course teaches a balanced sequence of yoga postures, focusing on safe and effective alignment for each individual body.  Participants will come away with a good understanding and experience of yoga.  For the beginner, this class would serve as an introduction to yoga, giving students confidence to enter a yoga class in the community. 
Knitting For Beginners Room 503 Instructor: Ann Marie D’Addarie
Learn to knit in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. If you have never touched needles before or have knitted in the past and need a refresher, this is the class for you. Once you have mastered the two basic stitches, the knit and the purl, you can begin a project. Students will receive individual attention and be able to move at their own pace. Each class will include some history along with helpful hints to keep your knitting frustration-free. All supplies provided.
Beginning Conversational Brazilian Portuguese Room 512 Instructor: Jane E. McGroarty Sampaio.
Students will learn the basics of conversation and language structure with an emphasis on pronunciation and practice greetings, farewells, questions, responses, polite phrases and vocabulary. Special emphasis will be placed on Brazilian culture and history.
Introduction to Web Design 6:30-8:30 p.m. Room 107 Instructor: Jeff Bernier
Students will earn to use Adobe Dreamweaver to create web sites and then publish the sites to the internet.

Practice or sharpen your Spanish speaking,listening,and writing skills. Student should have the basics covered to bring some level of comfort into the class.
