Mr. Sawyer

Final Project

The final assignment will be a project in which you exhibit the skills and knowledge gained throughout the year to the community through a media outlet. There are two major requirements for the Final Project: one, it must relate to the literature we have studied in class in a meaningful way and, two, it must be an insightful exploration of the human condition.

You will present the projects during the month of June. A panel of judges will be asked to provide authentic evaluation of your work.

Ultimately, the design of the final project will be up to you. You are encouraged to be as original and creative as possible in designing the project and to draw on your past experiences and personal interests in coming up with a plan.

Some ideas from which to draw from:
- Web Site Design
- Dramatic Production
- Radio Program
- Newspaper Edition
- Magazine Issue
- Television Show
- Documentary
- Power Point Presentation

You are not limited to the above ideas, but are instead encouraged to be innovative in the design of your project, which ultimately, will have to be approved by a proposal panel. This process will all take place in March.

Before approving your proposal, the panel must decide that the project will satisfy each of the following criteria:

- provides knowledge and justified accounts of events, actions, and ideas from the literature studied in the class.

- offers interpretations, narratives, or translations that provide meaning into the major themes examined throughout the year.

- uses knowledge effectively in new situations and diverse contexts

- exhibits criticial and insightful points of view.
