Wandering the World
Webquest

Introduction:
You and your friends are going on vacation next week! You are going to travel to several major cities around the world. Before you pack your suitcase, you will need to check the weather and exchange some money. When you arrive, you will visit famous places and take some pictures. Then you will write postcards home to your family and friends.
The Task:
· Each person will gather and share information with the other travelers.
· The group will prepare a trip itinerary.
· Each traveler will then write a postcard from one of the cities.
The Process:
Three students will be traveling together in a group. You will each gather some information for the trip on your own. Then you will share that information and make group decisions.
1. Find these major cities on a world map:
London, England Rome, Italy Sydney, Australia Cairo, Egypt Brasilia, Brazil
2. One traveler needs to find out what we should pack. Click on the name of each city above to find out what the weather will be for the next three weeks. Copy the information onto a piece of paper to share with your group.
3. One traveler needs to find out how much money we should take. Click on money to find out what the current exchange rates are. Copy the information to share with your group.
4. One traveler needs to find a picture of a famous building, park or landmark in each city that you want to visit. Use Google images to search for famous landmarks you may want to visit. Print a picture and copy some information about the place to share with your group.
London Rome Sydney Cairo Brasilia
5. Together plan your trip itinerary: Which city will your group visit first? second? third? fourth? last? Be able to explain the reasons for your travel choices.
6. As you travel to each city, one person will write a postcard home using the information you have gathered. Use a word processing or publishing program to create your postcard.
Conclusion:
Where would you like to go next? Now you are ready to begin planning that trip!
