The Vineyarder April / May 2010
It is a wonderfully busy time of year. We are preparing for our Advanced Placement tests, receiving college acceptances, preparing scholarships, looking towards the last of our MCAS tests, competing in spring sports, and all the while working on next year’s scheduling and planning. All of our staff and students are working hard as we move towards the last few weeks of the school year. We have some major events on the horizon that we hope you will partake in: Evening of the Arts, End-of-Year Music Concert, Honors Night, and, of course, Graduation.
This has been a good year for our students and staff with countless honors, awards, and celebrations. Our parents have come into the building to volunteer in increasing numbers, and we have been privileged to have introduced a new crop of gifted, new teachers to our students, school, and the community. As of this writing we have also been rewarded with the strong support of our communities, as we have had our FY 11 budget passed by the first five towns to vote.
We ask that as parents and guardians you also remain vigilant with our young people at this time of year. There are numerous celebrations, such as the prom, and many events with parties attached, such as graduation. Talk to your child and know where they are and where they are going. We want our young people to be happy and safe, so we must all work together to ensure that this happens. It has
been my pleasure this past year to watch our teachers, students, and staff grow as we work towards making MVRHS reach its true potential. I look forward to making the 2010-2011 school year even better.
